Below are some testimonials regarding Braveheart Kennels & Game Birds services. . .
Hello Mr. Rice,
I just wanted to drop you a note to tell you and Maggie that Tagger is doing very well with his training that he received while at Braveheart Kennels. We are so pleased with his behavior. We still have some areas that need polishing, however, with the tools and understanding your theory on how to train your dog, we feel that we will succeed. Tagger is a wonderful dog and we truly can enjoy him more now that we know and he knows what to do. Your philosophy on dog training makes so much sense when we actually put it to work. Thank you for all of your assistance. We definitely feel that we got our monies worth by investing in your program. Thank you again. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season.

Hello Anna and Dan,
I have been meaning to share this picture of Rooney with you. We can't thank you enough for your training of Rooney. He is such a happy, fun, and well behaved dog. We are so happy we sent Rooney to train with you!
I am sending a thank you letter for changing our K-9 lives. I sent you a two Aussies, one 9 1/2 years, and another 7 months. Our older one has never had an effective recall or been able to walk on a lead, so he never leaves the property. I didn't want to make the same mistake with the younger one. End results have been heavenly for months now. They both go to the barn with me almost every day and are fantastic. It's so exciting seeing how happy the older one is with turnout. My Aussies and I have actually become closer now that I have the tools to do more with them. Their recalls are amazing. And they both walk on a leash like angels. The really wonderful part is that you sharpened my thinking and techniques in handling them both. They are both just wonderful to handle and train now. Their stay/waits are amazing at this point with such a small investment each day, and consistency. Thank you again, you run a fantastic facility.

I just wanted to let you guys know that Brie is doing great. The training was amazing and we've taken her for hour long walks or more everyday since we've brought her home. She's doing great on leash and even better on the E-collar! It's a true pleasure having a well mannered dog. Thank you guys so much, I'll be referring the kennel to friends and family. We'll also be bringing Brie back for a week of boarding during a vacation in June (I'll call to schedule it).
Thanks Matt & Erica
Dahlia is doing great! She settled in at home very quick and has been listening to me better than ever. Our daily walks are great, I'm so impressed with her reaction or lack of reaction to other dogs. She still will get excited but I nip it in the bud and then it is smooth sailing. I have never been excited to see other dogs out on the trails and paths with us and now I can't wait to see dogs and that right there made this whole experience worth it! The e-collar is great as well, we have gone down to the river four times since she has been home. It's very nice to let her run knowing I can get her attention back to me with no problem. We visited with her sister dog, Milli and I was so surprised about how calm Dahlia was. Milli was bouncing all over the place so excited to see her. For the first few moments Dahlia was excited too but after a quick leash check she mellowed out and acted like a cool, calm, and collected dog that I have never known before. She was so calm that she calmed Milli down, which is a feat in itself. I can't thank you enough for all the help you have given us. Dahl is a completely different dog and everyone has noticed. She just has the sense of peace about her that she has never had before. I'm very excited about pushing her to do better and better. You and Anna really did an amazing job! THANK YOU!
Again, thank you for all of your time and effort you put in to Dahlia and myself. I appreciate everything that you and Anna have done!
Dan, I just wanted to tell you that Marvin and I have hit our stride running together! We actually have worked out a system...I don't run him on a leash which frees me up to make sure that I don't fall and I run more naturally that way. When we're on pavement he stays right beside me (as close as if he was on a leash) when we are on gravel (offroad) he has a few feet of play before I'll call him back to me, and if we're running in the woods on trails, he has more leeway since I take him to places like that just to run on his own anyway.
I love my dog and you helped make this possible! Thank you so much!
Daniel and Anna, we just wanted to let you know that Freddy is doing great. He is a different dog, yet still Freddy! When on the leash, he stays right next to me and stops when I stop, and does not break ranks unless he needs to do his business. He also is not lunging at other dogs, people, bikes, joggers etc. but we will stay on top of that as it gets warmer and more people are out on the trail. I really have not had to correct him too much. He also seems better when people come in the house, but we will stay on top of that too.
I have used the e-collar several times and we love it! It’s what having a dog is all about , walking in the woods and the park with no leash.
Thanks for saving Freddy!

I wanted to thank you and Anna for everything with Daisy. She's a
different dog (in a good way) and seems to have really taken well to the
training which is kudos to the work you both put in. Both Kristen and I thought Anna was great to work with!
Gordon has been fantastic on the trip- a few little growls, but no barking, no biting, no being crazy. It's truly a miracle. Yesterday we took him out on a boat with several other people and he was great- he loved watching the birds and we didn't have to worry he was going to eat anyone!
Talk to you soon,
Just wanted to drop you a note to give you an update on Max's progress. We've taken him to Billy’s place twice in the last few weeks. Max has responded beautifully. He has found and pointed all birds we placed in the field and has also retrieved them.
I can't thank you enough for all the work you did with Max. We absolutely love him and are looking forward to many years of hunting with him. We'll be sure to bring him up to your place to hunt again before the season is over.
We would like to thank you and your staff at Braveheart Kennels for the wonderful care of our 14 year old dog Nanook. He has come back happy and completely different from when we have taken him to other kennels. I am used to having to listen to him with a hoarse bark and lots of messes to clean in our yard for the days following his stay, but all of you did a wonderful job with him and I have not had any problems. We will be back with him and any future dogs for your services!! We will also be starting him on the supplement you reccommended for his joints in the next few days.

Dan took my aggressive Parsons Russel and within 15 mins turned him around 180 degrees to a submissive and mindful dog. Over the next 3 sessions Dan provided me with the tools to continue the great work he started by teaching me how to relate to my dog in dog terms and not by expecting my dog to understand human psychology.
Dan is a trainer who truly understands dogs and can teach you how to get the best from your dog"
Happy New Year
Dan, we had a great time hunting with you last Friday. Everything about your operation met or exceeded our expectations. You and Harold made us feel welcome all day, and while the weather and our shooting didn't help us on the goose hunt, the afternoon hunt was truly memorable. Your dogs were simply a joy to watch. Can't forget to mention Barbara's breakfast either. All of us appreciated her hospitality.
I took a few pictures and will get them to you within the next day or so.
Looking forward to hunting with you again soon.

I wanted to write a note to you to tell you how well things are turning out with Athena after going through first your kenneling, and then your training program.
First off, I want to thank you for the high level of care you gave to Athena while she was in staying at Braveheart. I initially chose your kennel because I took her to a local place a few times and she was crazy from lack of exercise when I got her home. Braveheart's belief that a dog's exercise and play is a natural right is the reason I brought her in, though I hesitated initially about the long drive to bring her out.
But after having experienced how you guys care for and interact with your dogs, there is now no other option for us. Now every time I need to board her, even if it's just for one night, I am bringing her to Braveheart. I would feel this way if the drive were now doubled.
As far as the training program you provide, I have told everyone I know who owns a dog about what you offer. Truly, it's like we came back with a different animal. We didn't, of course -- the difference is what you taught us, and everything you've taught has served to make our home relaxed, calm and centered in a way it really wasn't before. We are now much more confident in how we handle her, and as a result SHE is now more confident.
I strongly recommend what Braveheart teaches to anyone who is interested in having a sane, happy and balanced life with their dog.

Please accept this note as an expression of my pleasure with the training job that you did with my Yellow Lab, Belle.
During the time she spent with you she became a hard charging, confident and competent retriever. Your patient approach to her training was undoubtedly what made this success possible. You have taught her discipline, how to hunt, and to be a wonderful pet and sporting dog.
I appreciate your time and willingness to answer questions that I may have about my dog since I have taken her home and I would refer anyone thinking of training their dog to you.

I just wanted to tell you how happy I was with your kennel. Indy didnít come home smelling of urine and it really made me happy that she didnít eat her bed. That tells me that she was very happy while there. I think you have a loyal customer for now on!!! Which makes me happy as can be. . .since Iím so picky and every kennel I have used I havenít liked. I just wanted to find a good kennel that when I go away I can have the same people caring for her each time. Travis was very impressed and think that you guys are very knowledgeable and are 2 very great people, we both agreed that you do what you say you are going to do with your clients and donít try to just get money out of them. So about the training, we are more than willing to come back and continue with it. We are actually pretty excited about it.
Thank You Dan very much,

You can bet we'll be back. You guys put on a great hunt, and the variety
of dogs and styles of searching out birds was a joy to watch.
Joe was hunting for the first time and it was a kick to see him take his first bird with me. He's marrying my daughter next fall and so if we can hunt together he's family as far as I'm concerned.
Our companions - Brian and his father had also never bird hunted together, his father was a Brigadier General Ret, and Brian's already written to thank me for their time together - something they rarely have.

Happy New Year, and most of all, thank you. I know you predicted that I would be contacting you three or so months after the training this summer, but I thought I’d give it six (we’re talking Seamus, after all).
And you know what? He’s a joy.
The “fraidy cat” stuff? Gone. The barking at every little “life is annoying/scary/visible” stuff? Gone. The pulling on a walk? Gone. The jumping and licking? Gone (okay, the licking is still a work in progress). It’s all done and gone, thanks to your training of both Seamus and myself.
The best part, really, is that with the e-collar, I can take Seamus for three-mile walks along the golf course in the evening on weekends. He can routinely retrieve (off leash) tennis balls thrown in the local park and at the field at the cabin without my worrying about him bolting (young dog exhaustion is truly a good thing). I can’t tell you the last time I actually had to use the remote; it’s just part of our outing, and he listens.
Interesting sideline: I, without realizing it at first, have been using the ch/ch sound when herding my classes in elementary school – dogs, kids, whatever, it works! I’ve noticed as well that I have been hearing other teachers use the same sound. You may want to expand your training.?
If you want to use any of this on your comments page, I would be honored; and if not, know that we are your customers for kennel and training for life.
Thanks again, Dan, you saved our love of our dog.

I already miss coming out! It was a great experience; I really enjoyed working with you and Anna and meeting Barb and all the puppies. You have a special place! The kids asked when we could go out again to visit the puppies so we'll be back before you know it. I'd like to bring 'the boys' out to board June 28 and pick them up on July 5.
They are doing well and they are getting along much better than before. Tucker is an 'A' student where Mosby has some work to do; he's stubborn but I'm not giving in. I feel so much better knowing what I am supposed to do. Thanks for your patience and for your guidance. We are a much happier household with two well-behaved dogs!

I just wanted to drop you a note and say that I’m really impressed with the training that your trainer /assistant, Anna provided for my dog, Decoy and I. I learned a lot from her and she was thorough with providing me the direction and information with the what, when, how and why behind the training. Decoy is much more focused and a well behaved chocolate lab thanks to your trainer and her knowledge. He is even swimming now and that is a big surprise as he was apprehensive of going into deep water . I have been taking him swimming every other night and he actually looks forward to that. I look forward to bringing him back to you for some potential hunting training. Please pass my sincere satisfaction and appreciation to his trainer !!!!
